A Letter to the Pathfinders 2

Pathfinder Chronicler Jarvan,

Adventure is at hand! Having EASILY defeated the Subject D (presumed Skeletal Champion) we found it to be wielding the broken Whispering Shrike. Within the swords broken hilt we found a mithral tube which contained a long forgotten note. The note was written in Tien and we asked Ameiko to read it aloud to our party. Turns out the note was written by Ameikos own grandfather and was originally directed to her father! The note mentioned Brinewall Castle, the Ward Box, Tsufamu and enemies of her family! Excited to find out more we petitioned Sandrus Caravan to take up the adventure.

We have been on the road for 8 days now and have run into only a few roadside attractions, a Fallen Tree, a Goblin mob, and two Subject E (presumed Ogre).

The reading materials you last sent have been invaluable to my expanding knowledge. In particular I enjoyed reading ‘On Verified Madness,’ its delve into the aberrations and other entities found on Golarion were quite interesting. ‘Jurhnaz Burning Mind’ was also an exhilarating read, though its quite a ill fated feat to cause combustion of ones own brain. Although I appear to be continually on the move, please continue to send interesting journals and research papers you find.

Shadok's Log 1

While doing my prep cooking for lunch at the Rusty Dragon, I was approached by 3 men (Kota, Ryuk, and Maetoruk). They asked me to come with them to explore a cave, seems they needed an extra hand.

We went to the cave and started to explore. It was very big, inside we found killed a giant spider, amoeba, and some skeletons. One skeleton was sitting on a chest, we wanted to know what was in that chest. As we moved in it started to rise to attack. I quickly moved in and threw a dagger, hitting it in the head and taking the head clean off! It crumbled to the ground in a hep of dust.

Inside the chest we found a few nice jewelry pieces, potions, and a few other odds and ends. The skeleton had a nice wakizashi on it, which we took also. When we got back to Sandpoint we had someone look at the dagger, they found a note hiding inside of the hilt. Seems that the note was from Amekio’s grandfather and it talked about ruins called Brinewall.

Amekio wanted to get a caravan heading north to the ruins, what riches awaited us!

During the first week we encountered some goblins and some ogres (my sister had to inform me of what they were). The goblins where in trouble, but the ogres just about killed himself and Ryuk.

A Letter to the Pathfinders 1

Pathfinder Chronicler Jarvan,

My recent adventures have led to very strange creatures, included with this letter are some sketches I have done of them. Any help in identifying them would be much appreciated.

I’ve been exploring the swamp near Standpoint, hunting down the primary local Goblin tribe, the Licktoads. With the swamp being previously uncharted I saw a great opportunity to add a reference map to the Pathfinder library. The Sheriff Bellor Hemlock told my group of a halfling living in the area by the name of Waltis Pridestump who might be of use to us in our hunt.

On our way to Waltis is where we encountered Subject A, which the locals referred to as the ‘Soggy Swamp Monster’. It had a makeshift hut with the heads of its victims in bubble like jars. When it bit me I had a sense of confused rage but the effect never took full effect as I was able to shrug it off.

Subject B was discovered within Waltis’s own home disguising itself as Waltis. After a brief word exchange the monster revealed its true form and attacked. Defeating the creature, we found Waltis hiding in a secret area of the house. He told us the creature attacked him and attempted to drain him of his blood.

The third, Subject C is an unidentified creature we found in the house of Old Mejus the witch. It appeared to be a medium sized rat with the hands, feet, and head of a man. It jumped out of the walls of the house but was otherwise fairly unremarkable.

Finally within this letter you will find the precise map we found of the swamp. Hopefully it will be of value to someone down the line. I will continue to send you information and inquiries as my journey beyond progresses.

Honorably, Ryuk Lightspring

Welcome to your Adventure Log!
A blog for your campaign

Every campaign gets an Adventure Log, a blog for your adventures!

While the wiki is great for organizing your campaign world, it’s not the best way to chronicle your adventures. For that purpose, you need a blog!

The Adventure Log will allow you to chronologically order the happenings of your campaign. It serves as the record of what has passed. After each gaming session, come to the Adventure Log and write up what happened. In time, it will grow into a great story!

Best of all, each Adventure Log post is also a wiki page! You can link back and forth with your wiki, characters, and so forth as you wish.

One final tip: Before you jump in and try to write up the entire history for your campaign, take a deep breath. Rather than spending days writing and getting exhausted, I would suggest writing a quick “Story So Far” with only a summary. Then, get back to gaming! Grow your Adventure Log over time, rather than all at once.
